Ukulele Permission Slips

Oftentimes, we musicians can be quite hard on ourselves when we aren’t progressing as quickly as we think we should. But the problem isn’t our skill level, it’s our expectations. I know from personal experience that it can feel liberating to have someone grant me permission, like when The Nester granted me some home decor-related permission in an Instagram story and when comedian Tom Papa assured me in his book that it’s fine to buy the bigger size of pants. Ha!

Life is hard right now, and I want to make sure you’re keeping reasonable expectations of yourself, musically-speaking. If you find yourself avoiding your ukulele because you don’t think you have enough time to practice, or because you haven’t nailed that new strum pattern yet, perhaps you could use one of these…
